We’re very honored to be working with the amazing Peace One Day organisation in the lead up to Global truce 2012 on September 21st. As well as celebrating the cause with a concert headlined by Elton John, they are launching an exhibition at the ICA called AKA Peace, which is bringing some of the biggest names in contemporary art together to make art out of decommissioned AK-47s: the most recognisable and devastating worldwide killing machine.
The Sunday Times magazine featured the fantastic show this weekend - with a dazzling 5 page spread.
The full list of artists involved are:
Charming Baker, Jake & Dinos Chapman, Mat Collishaw, Jeremy Deller, Nancy Fouts, Ryan Gander, Douglas Gordon, Antony Gormley, Damien Hirst, Gary Hume, Jim Lambie, Langlands & Bell, Sarah Lucas, Antony Micallef, Harland Miller, Tim Noble & Sue Webster, Marc Quinn, Stuart Semple, Laila Shawa, Bran Symondson, SamTaylor-Wood, Gavin Turk and Rebecca Warren.
The exhibition will take place at the ICA 26-30 September, followed by an auction of the exhibited works held by Phillips de Pury & Company at Howick Place on October 4.
