This week sees the launch of Josh Cole’s Physical Graffiti show at Black Rat Projects - a series of stunning photographs taken in forgotten, impoverished corners of the world. The show introduces the viewer into an all-to-often overlooked side of such communities, documenting their rich culture through images that capture the exuberance of community, dance and entertainment.
Having attended Cole’s packed 2012 show in Hoxton we know this one is sure to impress. Each picture is filled with raw energy, and his ability to capture such neighborhoods - from Rwanda to UAE, Italy to Malaysia - has cemented his place as the respected ‘eye’ on urban culture.
This is reflected in Josh’s music video shot for Asylum/ Warner artist, Rudimental. We can’t get enough of the striking visuals in this promo for ‘Not Giving In’, all shot in Manila, and we’re sure our followers will love it too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9-Lwpgfd1E
Running from May 2 - 8 at 15 Bateman Street, Soho, this is a definite must see photographic show of 2013. For more info email emma@jb-pr.com.

Whilst sipping on pink champagne and indulging in cupcakes, Julie Coates briefed us on expert beauty tips, from perfect lashes to glamorous nails. Bloggers were given the opportunity to chose from their fabulous collection of Essie colours with help from Julie herself - who’s our go-to-girl for beauty trends. We hope this will be the start of many beauty master classes at The Lanes Health and Beauty and we look forward to reading all the blog posts about the night.

Trevor Sorbie, Brighton has been awarded a place in the hairdressing industry’s most fashion-led live hairdressing competition the L’Oréal Colour Trophy 2013. The acclaimed event will be happening on June 3rd at The Grovesner House Hotel, London.
To gain a prestigious place in the Regional final the salon submitted a photograph demonstrating their technical expertise and their fashion awareness on a male or female model. Fergal and Jade were quickly noticed for their ability to produce a modern and inspirational hair colour with a stunning editorially inspired finish and shook off stiff competition of over 1000 entries from across the UK.
Trevor Sorbie will now require a stunning, catwalk confident model to put both their knowledge of catwalk trends and technical skill to the test on as they complete their model look live in just 45 minutes. The goal is to create a look that encapsulates the brief of a ‘well executed, inspirational, modern colour with a beautiful editorially inspired style and finish on a model, complementing an Autumn / Winter 2013/14 fashion trend to create a show-stopping total look’.
Fergal and Jade are part of a very excited salon team who are all overjoyed with having broken through to the next level of the competition. The team will now join 65 other salons from across the region in a bid to secure the L’Oréal Professionnel Men’s Image Award 2013.

The Diverse Elements private view at Pertwee Anderson and Gold went off with a bang last night. A great turnout showed just how much interest there was in the latest offering from the Soho gallery. Kai & Sunny and Leif Podhajsky posed with their works (above) before doors opened to our guestlist. We even noticed Damien Lewis skulking outside!
Visit the gallery’s website here for more info.
